Do you really need to be told why you should quit? I doubt it. Most people already know all the scary stuff that smoking can cause. Cancer, Impotence & Death are all the reasons anyone could ever need. So why haven't all smokers quit yet? How can you know that smoking will eventually kill you and still smoke? Well the mind is a very sneaky and clever organ. The first thing you absolutely need to understand is that your subconscious brain is the #1 reason why you smoke. It is the only plausible explanation of why we do things that go against our most primal instinct of self-preservation.

If you think that you can just take a magic pill and you are just going to stop smoking... well if it works for you then good for you but for most smokers who quit for good it takes a little more than that. So if you want to quit smoking and be smoke-free for life, then you have to make that decision and accept the fact that it will not be painless or effortless. You have to be willing to be pro-active in your quit smoking process.

Have you ever heard someone say they were an "ex-alcoholic"? I doubt it. What would that mean anyway? That they started drinking again? Alcoholics are alcoholics for life. It never really goes away and if they have another drink they could go on a bender again. The addiction to tobacco is no different to the addiction to alcohol or gambling. They are all addictions and therefore, you must accept that you are a smoker for life. You are addicted to smoking pure and simple. Think of yourself as "Smoke-Free" rather than an "Ex-Smoker".
